There’s something grounding about making your own bread. Simple ingredients, a bit of time, and the reward of a warm loaf straight from the oven. It’s the kind of baking that slows things down and brings a quiet sense of comfort to the home.

Homemade Bread

 

๐Ÿงพ Ingredients

  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp yeast
  • 3 tsp honey
  • 3 tbsp oil or butter
  •  600 ml warm water

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, yeast, and honey.
  2. Add the oil (or butter) and warm water, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a bench and knead until smooth.
  4. Place in a bowl, cover, and let it rest for 1 hour.
  5. Split the dough into two portions and shape as desired.
  6. Cover and allow to rest for a further 30–40 minutes.
  7. Bake at 200°C for 30 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
